21st March 2009
This week we dedicated the proceedings to discussing next weeks annual
pie competition. Kevin briefed us all on our duties. We finished off the
evening with pie and pies.
I little time was spend on: World events
The Austrian monster Fritz gets life for the rape and imprisonment of his
daughter for 24 years, the imprisonment of the children born by him and
the murder of one of the children.
Britain ’s longest serving prisoner to have his conviction proved to be a
miscarriage of justice after 27 years.
Sport

ahead.

28th March 2009
Annual pie competition day today!
The best yet, a PA system allowed us to speak clearly to everyone in and
outside the pub. An excellent auction raised at least £500. The winning
pie and the three runners up were sold as a set for £54!
Pete Waterman the record producer, railway enthusiast and now pork pie
fan came along and helped with the judging. Hinchcliffe’s butchers of
Huddersfield won yet again! This must be their 3rd win.
Everyone had a great day. The total raised for the Jumbobulance holiday
service for the disabled is still being counted but it is at least £2000.
The only problem of the day was that all the pies donated by butchers and
bakers were sold and none were saved for the judges to enjoy at the end!
